v1.8.3
LatestPurchase link and licence detection fixes
- Fixed the in-app "Purchase" button not reaching the purchase page
- Fixed permanent licences being treated as annual (expiring after one year). Keys issued by the website in the
GMS-P-/GMS-A-format are now recognised; olderGM-P-/GM-A-keys keep working
Location-off guidance and a layout fix
- Shows a warning banner when location services (GPS) are off. Checked on launch and on resume; a guidance dialog appears if GPS stays off
- Also checked when START is pressed: if GPS is off, sending is blocked and you are taken to Settings (with GPS off the receiver could connect but never got a position, which was hard to diagnose)
- Fixed the status bar (clock, icons) overlapping the app title / version on the start screen
Android 16 support
- Targets Android 16 (API 36)
- Build tooling and libraries updated to current stable versions (AGP 8.9.3, Kotlin 2.0.21, JVM 17)
Background power optimisation (heat)
- Idle mode: GPS and sensors stop while no Receiver is connected, start automatically on connect and stop on disconnect
- Sensor rate reduced from ~60 fps to ~5 fps; high-frequency debug logging removed
- Bluetooth accept switched to blocking mode; heartbeat interval changed from 10 s to 30 s
Fixed map heading rotating while stopped
- Fixed the map rotating by about 90° while stopped at lights. When stationary the last GPS bearing is kept instead of the magnetic compass heading
- The tunnel fallback (GPS gap monitor) now keeps the GPS bearing as well
GPS-loss handling in tunnels
- If GPS updates stop for 2 seconds, the last position keeps being sent as a fallback (with gradually degraded accuracy)
- Compass heading from the sensors keeps updating inside tunnels
- Fallback stops automatically when GPS returns, avoiding Google Maps on the receiver getting stuck on "searching for GPS"
Clearer connection status
- Removed the "device selection" UI, which is not needed in SERVER mode
- Connection status now shows three states: Connected (blue) / Waiting for connection... (green) / Stopped (grey)
Bluetooth switched to SERVER mode
- The Sender (phone) now acts as SERVER and the Receiver (head unit) as CLIENT; the Sender waits for the Receiver to connect
- More stable connections in the car
Layout adjustment
- "Send settings" and "Update Frequency" are now side by side to save vertical space
Button placement
- The "Navigation settings" button moved next to the licence information
Permanent licence and navigation settings
- Added support for permanent licences
- Added navigation settings
